COAA MEMBERS’ GALLERY FEATURING:
Janice Hindle
Janice received a Nikon Z digital mirrorless camera when she retired four years ago, and hasn’t looked back. Her passion is creating photographs that tell stories and make emotional connections. The images typically celebrate rural life, nature and landscapes. Recently, she’s been dabbling in abstracts and is keen to try some multiple image exposures and intentional camera movement to keep the creative juices flowing. Janice considers herself an emerging artist who is learning and developing her skills.
Her photographs have been accepted into the Minto Arts Council Juried Show for the past two years (2024 Honourable Mention); Durham Art Gallery’s Juried Show “Euphoria” 2024; the Greater Napanee and Area Artists Association Juried Show (2024 Honourable Mention); SPARK 2024 Photography Festival and Juried Show in Peterborough, Ontario; 2024 Headwaters Arts annual Fall Juried Show and Sale; Art Gallery Lambeth’s Juried Show “Little Black Frame” 2024; Guelph Arts Council Juried Show 2024; and, the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Juried Photography Show 2024 in Collingwood. Her work has also been exhibited in pubic spaces such as libraries, hospitals and pubs. She typically attends 2 juried art sales a year, including the Wellington County Museum’s Christmas Market and the Art in the Sawmill show/sale near Kingston.
Janice was honoured to judge the photography competition for the Ontario Horticultural Society’s annual conference in 2024. Janice divides her time between her home in Fergus and her cottage near Kingston, Ontario.
