Beth Stewart
Beth was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. She moved to London in 1977 after graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) and a Bachelor of Education (Visual Arts and English). She subsequently attended Western University and earned a Diploma in Art Therapy. Beth worked as an Art Therapist, an arts writer, and a secondary school teacher before retiring in 2004.
Beth works mainly in dry media and favours coloured pencil. Her subject matter includes objects that she collects as well as things that she admires, ranging from small toys to local wildlife. Over the past decade, Beth’s focus has been on wild and domestic birds.
Beth is a member of the Central Ontario Art Association, the Coloured Pencil Society of America, the Gallery Painting Group, the Eclectic Collage Collective, Lambeth Art Association, and a founding member of the Canadian Coloured Pencil Artists.
