COAA MEMBERS GALLERY FEATURING:

Kseniya Ali

My love for arts and music started very early in life as my whole family was very musical and artistic. I studied arts since I was 5 years old and it just stuck with me throughout my whole life. However, it is only after birth of my daughter, who has a rare genetic mutation, that I picked up my brushes again and started to paint on a regular basis as a way of healing and coping with the difficulties and challenges brought up by the disorder. The amount of paintings piled up pretty quickly which lead me to have two successful Hamilton based art shows in 2017 and 2018. I have worked with watercolours since my art school days, but as an adult, got fascinated by paintings in acrylic. I took numerous art classes with the very talented Ancaster artist Michelle Guitard. Now I love to switch between watercolour and acrylic. I also sometimes love to sprinkle a little bit of glitter on my artwork.

My main and most favourite subject to paint is Ballerinas. As a little girl I was absolutely breathing with hope to become a ballerina one day, but life put me on a different path and now I enjoy painting them. I also love painting nature, elements of different cultures (Scandinavian, Ukrainian, Egyptian, Indian), and other things that catch my eye in fascination.
